Carlos' first RIPE meeting was RIPE 40 in Prague, back in 2001. Since then he manages the LIR for the Portuguese Research & Education Network, and has been an IPv6 advocate. During many years, he also managed GigaPix, the Portuguese Internet Exchange technically. Carlos was involved in several EC financed projects along the years, and since late 2015 he leads RCTS CERT, and represents FCT|FCCN at the INHOPE Association. Since late 2016, he is also the General Assembly's Chair at the Portuguese National CSIRT Network.
